- My Profile: Each user can modify and manage their preferences, login information and basic dashboard.
- Navigation: Navigate easily with the Table of Contents, Chapter Details, Crumb Line and other navigation links. Navigation is fast and efficient. This is not a PDF file.
- Private Notes: Available throughout the book, this feature allows users to write private personal notes for future reference. The Insert Date feature automatically notes today’s date on each entry.
- Yellow Highlights: This amazing feature allows readers to highlight important information anywhere in the book.
- Bookmarks: Allows users to mark any section in the book and quickly find important information with the Search feature.
- Quick Guides: Over 42 Quick Guides provide summaries of the most important strategies found in chapters. Editor’s note: The Quick Guides are available as HTML documents here, and are available as PDF files in “Tools” where they are formatted info one-page high-level summaries for easy printing. Quick Guides are very popular with all readers.
- Resources: We researched thousands of web sites and print resources and found the very best. Over 800 books and web sites are fully annotated in 63 topical bibliographies.
- Organization Profiles: Over 2,200 organizations are profiled in 16 categories. These are international employers who regularly send young professionals abroad. There are chapters on the private sector, NGOs, international organizations and government departments.
- Reader Comments: Users can note their own comments for future reference on any of the 3,000 resources and organizations profiled in The BIG Guide Online.
- Reader Contributions: Users are encouraged to publish their own essays (minimum 200 words) for any of the 41+ chapters for viewing by other subscribers. Contributions are sorted by a five-star reader ranking system with the most popular essays at the top.
- List View: The List View shows the alphabetical lists of Resources and Profiles in each chapter.
- Detail View: The Detail View shows the details of the Resource (annotation) or Profile of the organization. These carefully researched annotations/profiles contain written descriptions, full addresses, categorization and Reader Comments.

- ID Numbers: ID numbers are equivalent to an online page number. Each resource and organizational profile is identified by a unique numerical code. All subtitles also have ID numbers. Find information fast by searching for ID numbers.

- Quick Guide: These are one page summaries of the most popular topics (28+ in English and 16+ in French, with more on the way). Easy to read and print. Valuable to students and young professionals. Many Quick Guides have schematic diagrams that allow readers to understand the bigger picture of our proposed strategies and job search models.
- Self-Assessment Quizzes: Fourteen insightful quizzes are designed as learning quizzes to help readers measure their preparedness in three areas: My International Personality, My International Experience and My International I.Q. Users have a dashboard (My Scorecard) that measures their international credentials with a Bronze, Silver or Gold rating. Quiz answers are permanently saved allowing users to raise their score as they build international experience during their years at school. The Quiz Tips feature provides expert advice for each quiz question and the Private Notes feature allows students to track their skills and objectives inside each quiz.

Two services which are specific to student advisors are Campus Projects and International Career Advising. Our list of Campus Projects provides innovative and easy-to-implement ideas on how colleges can create opportunities for students to build their international credentials while in school. Our services for International Career Advising are still being developed so stay tuned.
