Seminar #1 For Students
MY GLOBAL CAREER SKILLS: Advice for Anyone Considering Going Abroad (1.5 or 2 hours)
Learn about international careers, discover what skills are required to be successful overseas, long-term career strategies, how to gain international experience and build an “International IQ”. Mr. Hachey also presents an overview of the international job hunting process, including the differences between an international and a domestic resume. This seminar is brimming with practical tips, expert advice and humorous stories to help students go abroad and prepare for the new global economy.
Seminar #2 For Students
MY INTERNATIONAL JOB SEARCH: Selling Your Skills and Writing International Resumes (1.5 or 2 hours)
This seminar provides detailed information on international resumes and job-hunting strategies. Participants learn step-by-step strategies for finding international work, to target job search efforts and to sell their international skills. Elements of the international resume are reviewed. This seminar is of particular interest to graduate and fourth-year students, students with international experience and foreign students.
Seminar #3 For Faculty and Student Advisors
HELPING STUDENTS UNDERSTAND INTERNATIONAL CAREERS: A Seminar for Career Counselors, Study Abroad Advisors and Faculty (1 hour)
This is an event to which the host may wish to invite colleagues and other college departments. This presentation discusses how to guide students interested in building an international career, how students can acquire international experience and the difference between an international and a domestic job search. Mr. Hachey also puts forth innovative ideas on how various departments on campus can work together to help students build international careers and global citizenship credentials. This session is often presented as a breakfast or lunch event and is popular for international program managers as well as student advisors including career staff, study abroad and foreign student advisors. Colleagues from neighboring institutions can also be invited to attend.

Fees for Seminars
Universities and colleges often build a coalition of two or three departments that contribute towards the fee. These could include Career Services, the Study Abroad Office, International Student office, internationally-specialized departments (especially engineering and business schools), as well as student organizations.

The standard seminar fee for US colleges is $3,300, plus travel costs from Toronto. (Contact us at the address below for Canadian or European fees). Travel costs may be shared with other schools when more than one school from the same region books on an adjacent day. Schools can benefit from a $500 discount if a second school in the same region (within a 150-mile radius) also books a seminar event; the fee for both schools would be $2,700 each. We appreciate any networking support you can provide to arrange a seminar with a neighboring college. Note that if your school subscribes to College Site Access to The BIG Guide Online, the USA fee is $2,300 (plus travel) even if no other school in your region books an event on an adjacent day.

- Free Access to The BIG Guide Online to all seminar participants: For the very reasonable price of $600, schools can purchase 24-month subscriptions for everyone who attends a seminar.
- Books as door prizes: Your school may purchase 10 books (The BIG Guide to Living and Working Overseas) for free distribution to other departments or to seminar participants as door prizes at a cost of $150 (including shipping cost). In most case, schools ask Jean-Marc to distribute books to reward students who participate in his question answer session. This is a great way to create excitement during the presentation.
